Hemas Hospital organized a series of activities to commemorate world AIDS Day. These included a red Ribbon campaign to create awareness on HIV/AIDS, lighting of a special candle to remember millions of humans who died of this disease and a public lecture by two HIV infected persons on their life stories.
Hemas Hospital Provides Free Treatment to Commemorate the Annual Feast of St. Anne's Church Wattala, Hemas Hospital organized a large health camp for three consecutive days from 10th to 12th August 2010 at St. Anne's Church premises. Over 500 patients who are residents of Wattala and nearby towns in Gampaha & Colombo districts received free treatment including medicines at this camp.
Hemas Hospital has established a specialized unit to conduct mobile screening services to employees of corporate sector. This unit is comprised of doctors, nurses, techniciens, paramedical and other staff. The services offered by this unit include, annual screening of employees, new recruites' screening, food handlers' tests, screenings required by industries handling hazardous substances and routine screening programmes. During its short period of operations, Hemas Hospital has provided corporate mobile screening services to several leading corporates in Sri Lanka including Fonterra, Toyota Lanka, Print Care, Paints & General and United Tobacco Processing.
A CME titled "Sex and the Heart" was organized by Hemas Hospital on 14th August 2010 at the Hospital. Dr. Lasantha Malavige, Specialist in Sexual Health conducted the programme. Several leading consultants, GPs and medical officers of Hemas Hospital and nearby hospitals participated in this event. |
